Rok 2023 byl v režimu sžívání se s naším malým hellionem a tomu odpovídal i můj čas a možnosti hrát a barvit. Přesto jsem se nakonec dostal k nějakým 45 nabarveným modelům a 22 odehraným partiím, pokud jsem na nějakou nezapomněl (statistiky jsem dopisoval do appky BGStats zpětně).

Jako každý rok, jsme se bavili, že se soustředíme na určité téma a jako každý rok jsme to nesplnili. Naše zájmy se tříští mezi Warhammer 40 000 v Xenos Rampant, Space Station Zero a samozřejmě Napoleonika.

The year 2023 has been in a getting in touch with our little hellion, and my time and opportunities to play and paint have corresponded to that. Still, I ended up with some 45 models painted and 22 games played (unless I forgot one, I wrote the stats in the BGStats app retrospectively).

Like every year, we talked about focusing on a certain theme and like every year, we didn't deliver. Our interests are split between Warhammer 40,000 in Xenos Rampant, Space Station Zero, and of course Napoleonics.

Bohužel jsem si vůbec nenašel souvislý čas na barvení plastikových modelů, místo wargamingu. To chce souvislý strávený čas u stříkací pistole a u samotného barvení, který jsem jednoduše neměl. Čímž teda musím říct, že jsem si aspoň střihnul parádní lekci ve weatheringu letadel 1 na 1 se zkušeným modelářem. To bylo naprosto parádní. A na rozdělaných modelech je to vidět, posunulo mě to.

Druhá pozitivní zkušenost přišla s mnou organizovanou soutěží v barvení Zlatý koroňák 2023 (gallery) ve Facebookové skupině Historický Wargamig CZ/SK, kde se nakonec ukázalo přes 130 modelů.

Unfortunately I didn't find any coherent time to paint plastic models at all, instead of wargaming. It takes a continuous time spent with airbrush and at the actual painting, which I simply didn't have. So I have to say that at least I had a great lesson in 1 on 1 aircraft weathering with an experienced modeler. That was absolutely awesome.

The second positive experience came with the Zlatý koroňák 2023 painting contest I organized in the Historický Wargamig CZ/SK Facebook group, where over 130 models showed up in the end.

Co mě čeká v roce 2024? What's in store for me in 2024?

V prvé řadě omezit nákupy. Seznam toho co potřebuji ve Wargamingu už je hotový, je celkem krátký. Samozřejmě je třeba ořezat spontání nákupy a dost ze seznamem může zamávat nějaká ta plastová novinka od Perry :-D.

First and foremost, cut back on purchases. The list of what I need in Wargaming is already finished, it's quite short. Of course, I need to cut down on spontaneous purchases, and some of that plastic novelty from Perry may shake up the list quite a bit :-D.

Co z toho plyne? Že bych rád dopostavil armády na Lion Rampant Viking in the Sun (Salernské knížectví a Kyjevskou rus) a Crusader States (Knížectví Tripolis). Dopostavil. Ne Nabarvil.

V barvení určitě chci dobarvit rusy na 3 brigády (cca 100 modelů). Rád bych dobarvil armádu na FIW (cca 40 modelů). O Alpha Legii (cca 30 modelů) a Nizárských Ismailitech ani nemluvě (cca 20 modelů). Ale v reálu bych se rád vrátil ke 100 modelů nabarvených a k tomu třeba 3-5 kitů a stejně tak terénů. Tak uvidíme.

What does that imply? That I would like to build armies for Lion Rampant Viking in the Sun (Principality of Salerno and Kiyevan Rus) and Crusader States (Principality of Tripoli). Built only, not paint.

I definitely want to put some paints on the Russians to 3 brigades (approx 100 models). I would like to paint the army to FIW (approx 40 models). Not to mention Alpha Legion (approx 30 models) and Nizari Ismailites (approx 20 models). But in real life I would like to go back to 100 models painted and maybe 3-5 kits and terrain as well. So we will see.

Forager

A co se týče her, chceme se vrátit k Napoleonice a znovu otevřít kampaň 1812, kterou nám zastavila válka a moje nechuť hrát za rusy. Budeme zkoušet Lasalle 2E. Mě osobně přijde, že kombinuje ducha doby, realitu a abstrakci do mě přijatelné varianty. Chceme vyzkoušet Ukraine 2022, což je asymetrická jednoduchá hra. Připravuji Song of Shadows of Dust v prostředí Jeruzaléma a s tím bych rád připojil více hraní v Zámoří v druhé polovině 12. století, kombinující malé a velké skirmishe. Napoleonika, Zámoří a uvidíme co nás cvrnkne do nosu. Určitě nějaké to FIW s Davidem, můžeme taky proměnit do kampaňového systému.

A od 1.1. zkouším opět pomocí soutěže aktivovat naši Facebookovou skupinu.

As for games, we want to go back to Napoleonica and re-open the 1812 campaign, which was stopped by the war and my reluctance to play as the Russians. We're going to try Lasalle 2E. Personally I find it combines period spirit, reality and abstraction into a palatable version for me. We want to try Ukraine 2022, which is an asymmetric simple game. I'm preparing Song of Shadows of Dust in a Jerusalem setting, and with that I'd like to add more gameplay at Outremer in the second half of the 12th century, combining small and large skirmishes. Napoleonica, Outremer and see what sticks in our noses. Definitely some of that FIW with David, we can turn that into a campaign system too.

And I'm trying to reactivate our Facebook group with a contest as of January 1.
